The Exhibition

The first 4 exhibition boards The 1960s room

The Fresh Hope Fresh Air exhibition tells the story of how Hattersley estate came into being and what it was like to move away from the city centre to start a new life in the country. The exhibition is made up of 10 boards of quotes, photographs, historical information and newspaper clippings. The exhibition also includes a flat screen monitor which allows visitors to watch the 15 minute film and full interviews with some original residents. While the exhibiton was on at Hattersley Community Centre (June 11th - July 3rd 2008) many school children visited and took part in sessions led by the project ambassadors about what life was like living in Manchester and then moving to a brand new community.
